Watch: Andre Botha describes the Evan Geiselman rescue

Yesterday at Pipeline, Evan Geiselman nearly died. Ev took a heavy wipeout and after three waves, still hadn’t come up. Luckily for him, two-time world bodyboard champ and insanely good waverider, Andre Botha, was in the lineup. With the blessing of swim fins to assist, Andre grabbed Ev and administered air to him while trying keep his head above water and pull him through the shorebreak. Once Ev was on the beach, CPR resulted in the coughing up of a ton of water before a rushed ambulance ride.

As per the IG post below, Ev as making a good recovery. Stab dialled in with Andre to scoop his recollections on the incident. Hearing him describe it is pretty real, but it’s so very good to know there’s people like Mr Botha around when things go to shit.
