Oh, what a year it has been for Miss Wright? Did you ever doubt she’d be the title winner? Nah? Us either. Nor Micro, nor the young lady herself. After a heavy year, and hard times after her brother, Owen’s head injury. She couldn’t have worked harder, or secured the title in more dominant fashion. In her semifinal heat, she put up a mid seven and followed it with a high eight. Tati Weston-Webb fell just short with a 14.16 heat total. After Miss Conlogue lost a close one to Carissa Moore, a mere .23 between the two gals, Tyler is the Women’s 2016 World Champ.

Owen’s Instagram post immediately after he win said it all. “Tyler Fucking Wright is World Champion!”

During the final v Miss Moore, Tyler was sporting a yellow jersey with Owen’s number three.

“At the start of the year, with everything that went on with Owen it was such a hectic six months,” she says. “For how much he’s done for me in the last few years, I said if I could win the World Title I wanted to do an event with his number on my back. So I changed it to number three for the remainder of the tour. He’s on quite a journey and I love him very much and it’s probably the most emotional year I’ve had ever. I don’t think I’ve cried as much as I have this year in my entire existence on this planet.”

In the finals it was all Riss. But, Tyler could care less, she’s the World Champ!
