The 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards

Last night, at the QT Hotel in Surfers Paradise, the best surfers in the world glam’d up for the 2013 ASP World Surfing Awards. It’s the final step in crowning the new world champs, as well as gifting awards like rookie of the year (John Florence, Malia Manuel) and breakthrough performer of the year (Seabass, Lakey Peterson). After what must seem like an eternity, Joel Parkinson was officially awarded his maiden world title. “It’s beautiful to have everyone here tonight,” he said. “We all come together and really celebrate last season amongst our friends and family.
