Stab Podcast: “There Hadn’t Been A Shark Attack In 15 Years.”
Kirra at its best, upcoming Stab projects, and witnessing a shark attack.
It was a busy week in for surfing; there’s no denying that. This week’s episode of the Drop covers it all, including interviews with Mick Fanning and Shaun Manners. Not time to waste, let’s get to it:
Upcoming Stab Projects
If you follow us on Instagram, you may have noticed something interesting happening on our stories; An Electric Acid Surfboard Test featuring the Ho Family. Nothing like Hawaiian royalty, 21 surfboards, and a flight to Mexico to kick off a project. Plus, Danny whispers tales of the destination for our upcoming Stab High project. Hint: think Central America.
Was that the best swell Kirra has ever seen?
Mick Fanning doesn’t say yes, but he emphasizes the perfection of the bank and the swell angle. With perfect waves comes a circus of people itching to get their share, and Fanning admits the lineup changes on days like this; some more ruthless than others.
A chat with Shaun Manners.
Danny and Shaun chat about a lot of things. Partying too much, the challenges of being a free surfer, and how music can be a real escape for the Rage crew. The Blastoid has found a balance in life and is hungry for another big clip. At some point, however, the conversation somehow gets steered into a traumatic shark attack Shaun witnessed as a kid.
There are some curveballs in this week’s pod; take a swing here.
