Stab Podcast: Ozzie Wright Speaks Barbie Dolls, Conspiracy Theories, And New Films
Interplanetary communications with our favorite space cadet.
Ozzie Wright is the original, original.
That’s not even our claim either; that’s a direct quote from Andy Irons. As an icon for young Australian free surfers, Ozzie has never been scared to veer from the pack. He brings Barbie dolls into the barrel, slides across rock formations, and surfs a McDonald’s tray better than most of us can maneuver our custom-tailored crafts.
Given his recent participation in our recent S.U.R.F. series, we decided to ring up our favorite martian to discuss Wright’s take on conspiracy theories, surfing with dolls, and even his history with hate mail. Could you imagine not loving Ozzie Wright? Preposterous.
Danny and Buck also break down this week’s surf-based headlines, which covered the start of Jordy Smith’s competitive longboarding career, a tale of a not-so-fun surf trip in Mexico, and the release of Stab Fried, a short film starring Dane Reynolds and Mikey February.
