Should You Watch John Florence’s New Film, ‘Tokyo Rising’?
We made a helpful chart.
John Florence and his Parallel Sea production team premiered a new film yesterday, 57 minutes in length, which plays exclusively on Amazon Prime video.
Tokyo Rising covers John’s back-to-back knee injuries and how they affected his 2019 CT season, particularly in relation to the Olympic qualification race. It also chips away at the Teflon shell built around surfing’s most talented mister.
Examples:
“Your whole life you’re building up to winning a World Title. Then you win it and it’s like, ‘Everything’s still the same…'”
“I have a picture in my mind of how I like to surf. And sometimes that can be blurred by the competition box.”
Etc.
Having watched the film last night, I feel I have a pretty solid grasp of its value both entertainment- and information-wise. So I made this little chart to help you decide whether or not you should watch it too.
