Ross Williams Headbutts Reef at Haleiwa
Stab’s equal second favourite WSL commentator (1st Blakey. 2nd Williams/Turpel. 3rd Mel…33rd Wasilewski) Ross Williams will require plastic surgery after going head first into the reef at Haleiwa this morning. Ross paddled out at what he described as “10-12” foot Haleiwa and ended up doing a tour of the reef after falling off on the inside ‘toilet bowl’ section. Ross’ surf buddies for the day included Jack Johnson, Benji Weatherly, and Love Hodel, among others; a b-grade momentum generation superheat! Jack Johnson (who still totally rips btw) took the heat apparently, no doubt adding another glint to the smile of what is seemingly one of the happiest men in the world. It’s a sad predicament when former star athletes start to loose an inch, but there’s a few things that don’t rub off with age. Like the ability to negotiate four consecutive, warbling sections as Ross demonstrated below a few winters back. We wish dear Ross all the best, and hope that his countenance is back to its loin-stirring best come Quiksilver Pro time.
