Man hits another man with SUP paddle; Charged with assault

A stand-up paddle boarder has used his paddle to settle a dispute at the world famous Bondi Beach leading police to charge the man with assault yesterday. The 54 year old was arrested and will face court on November 11. A local lifeguard told Stab, off the record, that beginners on SUPs pose the biggest threat to beach-goer’s safety due to the size of the crafts and their cumbersome nature in the midst of incessantly crowded conditions. Might it be time for local authorities to look at banning them from crowded metropolitan beach breaks? Stab says yes!
