KLM is no JetBlue
Airlines have a tendency to discriminate against surfboards. All too often they return your boards mangled like they were thrown through a wood chipper. John John Florence knows this, JetBlue gave his boards the good ol’ fashion airline Fuck You. Which really does happen all the time. I’ve had boards come back with puncture holes after they were packed tightly and assumed safe in a coffin. It was like somebody jabbed a screwdriver through my quiver for kicks and gigs. It didn’t even make sense. And obviously it wasn’t the airlines fault… how could it be? See, airlines have a dark and strange vendetta against foam and fiberglass. The charges are unreal, until now. KLM airlines are breaking the mould. Board bags fly free. Instead of a suitcase, just pack everything you need in that coffin of yours. It’s a refreshing notion in the midst of the unfair treatment of sleds in flight.
