Since the first grainy film strips were taped together and called a surf movie, premieres have enjoyed a long, time-honored tradition. Typically rowdy, belligerent affairs, surfing does its surf movie premieres a little different than Hollywood.
And here at Stab we’d hate to stray from that formula.
The new installment of the Electric Surfboard Acid Test is hitting the road this March, and of course, you’re invited. From the iconic La Paloma Theater in Encinitas, to a shindig at the Volcom mothership in Costa Mesa, to the home of Bruce Springsteen in Asbury Park, New Jersey, the more the merrier.
Over the winter we spent some time on the North Shore with our friend Noa Deane testing an array of alt craft. Some he loved, others not so much. But that’s the beauty of putting a quiver of freak blades through the paces on the power-rich strip—one really gets a sense of how they perform.
