Capítulo Perfeito: A Cheat Code For Getting Superb Waves

In surfing, there are rarely ever any guarantees. 

Despite the best efforts of whatever forecasting service you most like to use and complain about, good waves are never a 100% lock — especially when there’s travel involved. 

But, coming to Portugal for the Capitulo Perfeito is as close as you’re gonna get. 

It’s a single-day affair, and the goal is to run it on the best day of winter. So, effectively, you’re dealing with a wave-rich region, in peak season, on what locals feel will be the day everyone remembers for years. You ain’t gonna miss. 

This is prob why the event attracts so much talent, from world champs to big-name freesurfers. This year’s event will mark the tenth edition. So, we’ve seen a decade’s worth of people knifing through caverns at Nazaré, Supertubos, and Carcavelos. And it ain’t stopping soon. 

The waiting period for this winter’s comp opens in January. Get there if ya can.
