Why Adrian Buchan Looked So Comfortable At Trestles
A 9.80 in round five with help from new JS foam.
Adrian ‘Ace’ Buchan surfed Trestles with the confidence we wanted to see. The Hurley Pro saw his best performance in small waves this year. Ace finished a tied third with John John Florence and advanced six positions to 12th coming into the back end.
Although small waves have been a place for him to improve, Ace is a technical and striking surfer with one of the most powerful backhands on tour. JS and Ace have spent the better part of two years tweaking his boards to provide that extra spark in softer conditions. He’s got him over from a PU to epoxy-based, M6s which he didn’t put down the entire comp.
