Quiksilver: This Suit Saved Me From A Brutal Hiding
The battle armor you need for a shallow shelf.
What is there to say about Quiksilver that hasn’t been tattooed on the tricep of a Midwestern man who visited Bali once?
The mountain and the wave is an impregnable force in popular culture, and their wetsuits are no different. Once worn by Kelly and Dane, now adorning the sun-kissed shoulders of an Olympic medalist, it’s not a matter of if but when Quiksilver makes a break into the Best Wetsuits finals.
Will it be this year? Watch the full test to find out, and read a full breakdown of Quik’s submission below.
Men’s Submission: 4/3 Highline Chest-zip ($299.95)
Mikey says: I tested this suit in the most treacherous conditions of our trip. It wasn’t big, but goddamn was it shallow. I must have hit the bottom half a dozen times, and neither myself nor the suit were left with any permanent scars. On top of that, it was also respectably warm and plenty comfy to wear. Maybe a tiny bit on the bulky side, but nothing worth complaining about.
Pro: Super protective, and solid in both comfort and warmth.
Con: Didn’t blow minds in either category.
Comfort: 42
Warmth: 42
Total: 84
