Ian Crane Has A New Side Hustle

Making a board review compelling ain’t easy work. But if we learned anything from EAST with Dave Rastovich, it’s that if you hit the right notes, grown adults begin to salivate over the smallest details of a surfboard.

Enter Ian Crane’s new YouTube series, The Board Report. As the name implies, he tests surfboards and tells us what he thinks. While he might not have the same rambling, slightly unhinged poeticism as Dave Rasta — who once casually inquired as to the whereabouts of the jugglers on a high wire, naked in jester hats — Crane’s got a backhand stalefish that’ll snap your head back and make you listen. 

In this debut episode, Crane grabs the new Sub Driver 3.0 Swallow, paints it in a fluorescent green that’ll burn your retinas, and takes it for a spin.
