Tommy Ihnken, sling at sundown, New Jersey
Tommy Ihnken sure can kick a mean tail. Not to detract from said skills, but it’s the photographer, Ryan Mack, who had the foresight to flip the script on this everyday scene and use the descending sun to enhance the drama. Oh the drama. That afternoon ambience, the natural vignette from the clouds above, that slither of sunlight striking Tommy’s leg. It just works. “We decided to try and get some creepy air shots with a storm coming in from the west,” says lensman Ryan Mack. “It made for a real cool backdrop. Tommy’s been ripping lately and we’ve been working together a lot.”
