Taj Burrow, springtime superbowl in Sydney, NSW
This morning, Taj Burrow rose from a Sydney eastern suburbs home at 4:45 for a run southward along the coast. Finding nothing, he ended up back near the city beaches, right where he’d started. Having only swooped into Sydney for a short stint, Taj had very little equipment. He had to retrieve a board he’d loaned to his physiotherapist, and go purchase a legrope from a surfstore (a very rare necessity for a pro in 2013). The setup he landed at was really on, enough for him to compare a couple of his waves to Rabbit Hill in West Oz. The two-hour morning session won’t be the last of the day. TB will then fly back to WA tomorrow for a stint before heading to Hawaii, and more importantly, Pipe…
