Reubyn Ash, Wadi Wavepool, UAE
Britain ain’t exactly renowned for producing copious amounts of pro surfers. But, that’s not to say they don’t exist. Like, Reubyn Ash here, who slipped into the surfing world’s collective consciousness some time ago via the rarely-seen frontside rodeo. So, if you were gonna take a British surfer to the UAE for a Lawrence Of Arabia type deal, putting Reubyn in the Wadi Wavepool is a decent place to start. Much like Dion Agius did in Electric Blue Heaven, Reubs favoured a moustache (above-lip!) attack. And while the other photos from the trip showed Reubyn mostly in the air, Stab digs the pulled-backness (and appreciation of bizarre landscape) that this layback is afforded. Don’t you, too?
