Ozzie Wright, Indonesian outer island

“We had such a fun surf at this wave on an outer island,” says Nate Lawrence of a recent session he and Ozzie Wright had in Indonesia. It’s no secret that Oz draws his own lines, and it’s no different when he’s in Indo: “Ozzie was riding a 5’5” out there,” continues Nate. “Most everyone else was on 6’6”, stroking into all the sets and racing past the barrel. Ozzie sat inside and picked off the inside double ups, which were the best waves by far.” Nate calls Bali home for most of the year and can’t get enough of the place. Linking up with frequently-visiting pros like Ozzie is just an added bonus. “This photo pretty much sums up my love for Indonesia. Warm water, warm sun, perfect waves. That moment of anticipation before you get barrelled. You look too deep to others, but you’re actually in the perfect spot.”
