Loaded will also premiere digitally on Tuesday Feb 4 (Australian time), on Marine Layer Productions as well as right here on Stab.
So, back to this very tall jump. “They go surf when they find the time between getting everything organised for the big night,” says the owner of this photograph, Quinn Matthews. “With fun-sized west swell finally hitting California, Noa and Dane have been mostly surfing the Queen of the Coast, Rincon, along with hoards of others. But this morning rincon was a bit funny so we looked elsewhere to entertain ourselves. In the end, we headed over to a fun beachbreak nearby Dane’s house and much to our excitement there were solid peaks rolling through the sandy stretch of beach. This specific wave wasn’t anything particularly special other than a very large launching ramp on the closeout, which Noa took to the sky with. A slob grab, and enough air to fit a car (Volvo) below him, left everyone on the shore staring in disbelief. Although he didn’t quite land this one he came awfully close, and gave a little foreshadowing to what we can look forward to from the release of Loaded. Soon after, the wind switched and we called it a day. Not before grabbing some thai food and soup down the street, though.”
