Mason Ho, gift wrapped at Pipeline, Hawaii

Stab frequently digs on the fun kinda pop Mason Ho brings to surfing. But, he’s absolutely no slouch in thick water. If you’ve ever seen him at Pipeline, you’ll know he digs riding really long surfboards and dropping in deep. “This was the morning after that macking Pipe swell when everyone went to Maui thinking they were gonna run the Red Bull contest,” says photog Brandon “Laserwolf” Campbell. “Only a few of the boys stuck around so the guys that were here were getting a lot of waves. Mason and Gavin Beschen were sitting out the back waiting for the bigger leftovers. Gav is one of my all time favourite surfers and Mason is super fun to shoot with, so I was amping in line, shooting behind Brent Bielmann, who is one of the heaviest fisheye guys right now. That’s his foot in the wave, so I don’t know if he missed the shot or got one even better (laughs). I think Gavin broke his board or something going Backdoor on the first one of the set, and Mason high lined his way out of this beauty.” Pipeline is anything but dull.
