Luke Davis, invisible RED and perfect green, Mexico

How about the shockingly vivid colour that a RED cam, when aimed at a Mexican pointbreak, can gift? And especially when said occurrence features the peppers of Mr Luke Davis, swinging his hook down an endless line. But, how did we come to be here? “Luke texted me on Tuesday morning, asking if I wanted to go to Mexico with him and leave the next morning, or basically in 12 hours,” says the RED-tographer, Aaron Lieber. “He was amped, and it looked like there was going to be good waves. A 6am flight south, a couple of beers and we were there. We were on it every morning, up at 4am to drive to different waves. We’d surf two to three sessions before lunch, then another two or three before dark. Just stoked all day. The waves never barreled like we hoped, but it was super fun and we kept scoring spots where Luke would either be the only guy out or one of five guys out. I love strike missions; surf and shoot all day, beers in the evening, repeat. Such a fun trip!” And, of course, Luke will be dropping a killer edit from the trip soon. Given the quality of these stills from the RED, we can only imagine how brill the footage shall be. More from Lieber Vision right over here.
