Local boy goes good!

Caleb Reid used to be an up and comer. A young man on the junior world circuit who competed surfed and competed and up and came and competed and then…“I just got chewed up. Surfing too much the way other people wanted me to. Kind of crueled me. Got right over it. I stopped surfing for a while.” But now? “I’m having a ball!” Caleb laughs deeply, deliriously. He has found surfing again! He has been doing it the way he wants to do! Like yesterday! “It was pretty onshore crappy, just nothing but it was really fun. Nobody was out, everybody went to work, like they do, and so I had these little wedges to myself out at Tama. Really fun.” How can this lucky man be out surfing when others pack up to work? “I work at a bottle shop four nights a week so right now I can run my own thing.” He laughs again. A laugh from his very soul. “And I got laid last night.”
