Kolohe Andino, fins out on a flat day in France
Though the Quiksilver Pro, France has called lay days recently, this photograph suggests there is still swell to be found. And one man who doesn’t miss a day in the water, no matter how tiny or inconsistent it may be, is Kolohe Andino. “The thing is, Kolohe is big and young, and surfs a lot,” says Kolohe’s shaper Matt Biolos. “Like, maybe three times the amount of a typical veteran surfer on tour.” Our photographer, Ryan Miller, certainly concurs. “Flat? Who says it’s flat? Not Kolohe. Guy puts more time in the water than anyone else on the tour. You rarely see this kid without a wetsuit on in France. He is either in the water, going into the water, or coming out of the water. I’ve never seen him once out at dinner, the bar or the ice cream shop where I’ve been bumping into the rest of the tour every night. I would like to imagine he’s so surfed out that he falls asleep in the car on the way home from the beach and somebody has to carry him to his bed. Here he is milking every last drop before the sun sets completely.” Keep an eye on the event site in case it goes live, right here.
