Julian Wilson, frontside huck, Huntington Beach
This morning at the US Open of Surfing, Huntington, Julian Wilson clocked the highest two-wave total of the event so far (18.54). He only stood up three times – first, he scooped an 8.67, then a 4.93 and for his third wave, on which he stomped the air you see pictured here, he clocked a 9.87. Y’can call that a concise heat win. After getting knocked out of the Nike Lowers Pro real early (for an interference), you can bet Jules wants to wade in the business end of a west coast US contest real bad. And it’s looking like Huntington will be the one.
