Julian Wilson loves surfing. Make no mistake. But, he’s also furiously passionate about golf.
“This morning he had the earliest tee time possible at Turtle Bay,” says photog Ryan Miller. “6:45am. What the fuck! That’s exactly two minutes before sunrise and it takes the sun a while to clear the mountains even after that.”
Yes, passionate. For the amount of time he spends on the green during the year, he spends way more in the soup. But, in Hawaii, when the waves aren’t the best they can be, the split can become a little more even. “He sure does know what he wants,” continues Miller. “All business and no dilly dallying – a round of golf early, with still plenty of time to put his board through the paces out front of the Nike house. Sun-up til sundown, he’s maximising his daylight hours.”
Oh, now you get the ‘day of frontside swings’ thing, huh! Fun!
