Reckon Josh Kerr can win this thing? Today, in heat two of round four, he again scored two high 9’s (similarly to the first day of competition) against Kelly Slater and Jadson Andre. The varial y’see here earned Josh a 9.57, which he quickly backed up with a 9.70 (a fully-rotated ‘oop, thanks.)
“Y’know, in my opinion, Josh is probably the most dangerous guy in this contest,” said Kelly after the heat. “He’s maybe the best air guy in the world, or, top couple, and these waves suit him perfectly being a regular footer on these rights, kinda going against the grain with the wind behind (him).”
Josh himself was a little surprised at the result: “I can’t believe it just happened like that, it was so quick. I didn’t expect to make that varial, and that’s kinda what gave me the confidence. After that, I was just, oh my goodness, it’s time to go now.”
