Josh Kerr, popping at Rubber Duckies, Hawaii
Oh, Josh Kerr. What an uncharacteristically early exit from the Pipe Masters this year. It sure is brill that a man who’s a world aerial champion is also one of the best big barrel riders getting around on tour (as we saw at last year’s Pipe event, all the way up to the final). Unfortunately this year, Mr Kerr exited Pipe with a 13th. We now pass the microphone to our shooter here, Trevor Moran: “While most World Tour surfers jump the first flight home after a tough loss, Josh stuck it out here in Hawaii in anticipation of the two massive swells that were due. Until it swung in from the northwest, Josh seemed perfectly happy passing the time on some of the North Shore’s novelty waves.”
