John John Florence, face to face, Fiji

Hey, remember how John John Florence is in Fiji for a Cloudbreak swell? Uh, here’s some more vision of him, there. This is one of many trips John’s taken to chase swell this year, most recently being a stint in South Africa waiting for big wave ledge Dungeons to wake up so he could take a swing on a borrowed 9’6″. Cloudbreak this week has been a long way from that, with a not-ideal wind and a swell that hasn’t quite delivered. Regardless, as we said two days ago, John’s been deep in the mix on a 5’10”, and although Cloudbreak couldn’t be more different to Lowers (where he’ll land for the Hurley Pro in four days’ time), John believes that “as long as you’re surfing before events, it doesn’t matter at all.”
