Jamie O’Brien, first customer at Pipe, Hawaii

Pipeline is back for the winter. And while Jamie O’Brien mightn’t have been the very first customer, he was certainly in the front row and deep in the mix with the panache only he seems to bring to this place. Look at those raised arms and relaxed spinal column. Jamie may not be able to compete in the Billabong Pipeline Masters this winter, but he’ll sure as shit be ruling on every other day that the wave in his backyard lights up. The swell currently storming surfing’s most photographed reef is rifling from the northwest, with a light breeze coughing from the northeast. You can expect much more vision to come from today. Stay tuned.
