West-Australian Jack Robinson (pictured here) is in the international final of King Of The Groms. So, before splitting for France (the KOTG final’s being held during the Quik Pro), Jack and his ever-present dad, Trevor, jetted from big, messy and sharky Margaret River to sunny, fun Keramas, in Bali. They were chasing a swell they’d been surfing in the desert of WA, and once they caught up with it Jack wasted no time in throwing himself into a few bigger sets. He took some beltings, too.
On the day you see pictured here, Jack was washed over the reef, slicing his knee. With KOTG’s looming, the injury put an end to his surfing for the trip, so the proper healing time could be had. Land-locked with a sliced knee, you’ve gotta think there’s worse places to be stuck than sunny Bali. Although, having to watch but being unable to surf waves this fun, d’you reckon Jack’s going a little stir-crazy?
