Woman Survives Shark Attack Off Merimbula Beach
A close call in NSW.
A 63-year-old woman named Michele Bootes was rushed to the hospital after being bitten by a shark in NSW, Australia. The incident took place yesterday at Merimbula Beach.
After the attack, Michele Bootes got out of the water and ran into a local cafe for help. Paramedics arrived shortly after and assisted her with wounds across her shoulder, hip, back, and buttocks.
According to News AU:
Ms Bootes is a member of Merimbula Merpeople, an ocean group.
She is also a life member of the Pambula Surf Lifesaving Club and the 2020 Bega Citizen of the Year.
She was taken to South East Regional Hospital is reported to be in stable condition.
