Welcome To The Good Vibes Tour
Izzy Henshell and Grant Noble do a Mexico.
Vans team riders Izzy Henshell and Grant Noble jaunt to Mexico for a dance across left points.
Izzy, a Cornwall, UK-native said, “I don’t really know where I want to take surfing.”
Sayulita Mexico, the land of gentle rolling left handers, is a good starting place. Izzy Henshall and Grant Noble were there to compete in the Mexi Log Fest.
If it weren’t for blatant evidence in the subtitles, most would fail to realize the edits were filmed in the contest zone. Pre-contest sites are prone to burns and açaí bowl slaps. As a precursor to the main event, they bring out the worst moments of human desperation. Sayulita seems to be an exception. In the small fishing town sprinkled with rolly lefts and rights, the only aggressive combination was a series of hula-hoop swings around the neck.
“Log contests are more like festivals,” Izzy Henshell concluded after her first trip to Mexico. Her latest edit, A Foray in Anahuac captures her perspective as she roams the rural beaches of Mexico and plants an aesthetically pleasing series of steps on the nose. See the full edit below:
Grant Noble takes similar delight in the lax approach. Grant and his buddies, Tosh Tudor and Ryan Conkin, enjoy Mexico’s pleasantries to the fullest, without a religious contest routine or gawking parents transfixed on results. Grant soul arches to the stars and has a beer or five in-between. Log Rap edit #1 will bop heads, and may result in the immediate purchase of a plane ticket.
Grant and Izzy’s classic and fun-focused approach to contest surfing feeds the soul. We appreciate the cultural assimilation at play.
