Watch: Five Minutes Of Mikey February Airbrushing Moroccan Points
The first of three North African installments, dropping every Tuesday.
If you wake up and your first awareness of the universe is one of deep confusion and existential dread, then congratulations—you’re a human in 2024. Lucky you.
Frankly, there’s a lot to be apprehensive about, but we must take comfort in the fact that we have been born into existence at the same time as Michael February.
In his latest clip Morocco (Side A), Mikey puts forth irrefutable evidence that sometimes, things can be clear and good. This five-and-a-half-minute clip is the first of a three-part series, showcasing the man from the southern nipple of Africa unleashing elegant fury upon the continent’s northern coast.
Mikey’s having a big week. Just days ago, he was the subject of the New York Times short documentary A New Wave by Sandra Winther.
The film examines fatherhood, the lasting effects of apartheid in South Africa, and his status as the first black South African surfer to compete on the World Tour. When it comes to mainstream media’s coverage of surfing, Sandra Winther’s film could be the most notable contribution from a New York-based publication since Bill Finnegan.
Mikey February is as much a treasure to surfing as Andrew Tate is to the incel community. Ya like jazz? Ya like surfing? Click here to watch them tastefully combined against a vista of Moroccan right-handers.
