10-Year-Old Describes Traumatic West Oz Shark Attack
“I thought I was going to die.”
Jackson Bartlett was snorkeling with his dad near Coral Bay in Western Australia when a shark began to circle him.
“It went for me, missed,” the 10-year told 9News from his hospital bed. “Then went for me, got one of my flippers, then went for me and got a flipper and my leg. I was bleeding at (that) moment… I thought I was going to die because it was really scary,” he said.
Jackson’s father, Blake, fended off the shark with a spear gun, and they made the 75m journey back to shore. The boy is ok, but he will have a scar on his foot from the six-inch laceration left on his foot.
