Sydney Opera House On The Pump
Get tubed under the harbour bridge, hop off at the botanical gardens.
At Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour you will find tourists, hobos, ferries, buskers, bankers, pianists, and sharply-dressed patrons attending the Sydney symphony orchestra. Seldom will you find neoprene-wrapped surfer dudes hunting for waves in the harbour.
The Opera house is deep in Sydney harbour, protected from swells by the Head family: North Head, South Head and Bradley’s Head. Occasionally (like once every decade), super enormous East swells can push through North and South head, wrap around Bradley, bounce off Sco Mo’s house at Kirribilli point, and form a wave at the Opera House (re: terrible diagram below).
According to the filmers:
On 6th June 2012 a massive swell hit Sydney, Australia. The giant waves broke all the way into the harbour, making a perfect 2km wave at Bennelong Point, aka the famous Sydney Opera House. Marcie and Frimmy scored an epic sesh with no one else out.
