Recycling Blackbelt Heath Joske Bakes Solar-Powered Chocolate Cake
‘Farm Boys’ is a quirky, offbeat ‘hardcore surf and gardening show’ starring iconic Australian freesurfers.
In partnership with Patagonia.
“If you chop your own wood, it’ll warm you twice.”
I love a good one-liner and Farm Boys is full of them. Made by Fun Boys Productions’ Harry Triglone, ‘Farm Boys’ is a quirky, six-part heart and soul series starring Patagonia’s cast of recovering pro surfers teaching you priceless DIY life hacks for living off-grid.
In subsequent episodes, Dave Rasta spills the secrets to growing popping green beans – so stay tuned.
This one is all about resourcefulness and features 2007 World Junior Champ and J-Bay soul-archer Heath Joske rummaging through a tip to find parts for a drop dunny and solar oven with the help of junkyard jedi, Addy Jones.
“He sees potential in the most obscure, rubbishy items you could imagine. And his ability to turn all that junk into ‘functional art’ as he calls it, is incredible,” says Joske of his fellow bearded friend.
Great Addy quotes include: “Fuck mate I wish I had this at home” (staring at a pile of scrap metal), “You’re the most fussy recycler” (giving Joske shit), and “This is like going to Mitre 5, cos they’ve only got half the stuff”.
There’s a bit of Heath surf motion too, ripping on his dad’s 30-year-old Valla at a very fun-looking beachie.
It all ends with cake.
No shortage of personality here — ep 2 drops Friday.
