New images of the American Surf Park wave pool in Myrtle Beach were just released. The City Council approved the 15-year lease last year, and construction is supposed to start in 2021.
Fortunately, it’s only a few blocks from the beach. East Coast surf has its ups and downs; this might fix that for some surf deprived South Carolina folks.
According to Fox 8:
There will be a surf lagoon that makes four different types of waves for all experience levels. The park also will have a skate park, climbing walls and even a child care center.
The park will cost about $41 million to build. The city estimates it will bring in about $450,000 a year.
