Portfolio Showcases The Beauty Of Canada’s West Coast
Marcus Paladino’s “Cold Comfort” is full of compelling surfing images.
Marcus Paladino is a professional photographer specializing in cold-water surfing on the west coast of Canada. He grew up on Vancouver Island and has been featured in SURFER, Surfing Magazine, The Surfer’s Journal, Explore magazine, Tracks, and Carve. His new coffee table photo book Cold Comfort showcases his most notable work. According to Marcus:
It’s 320-pages, hardcover and it’s focused on my work from the past 10 years of cold water surf photography. It features surfers like Pete Devries, Noah Cohen, Noah Wegrich, Balaram Stack, Cam Richards, Timmy Reyes, Josh Mulcoy, etc. It’s more than just surf porn though, it’s abstract water/waves, nature/landscapes, and portraits with captivating captions to go with every image. I think the biggest draw is that there are a lot of unpublished images from the past few years in this book. Ones that have still never seen the harsh light of Instagram, which is a rarity these days.
