Keala Kennelly is the winner of the first-ever Red Bull Magnitude Contest. Red Bull Magnitude was a women’s big-wave video contest held across the Hawaiian Islands. The entry period lasted from December 1, 2020, to February 28, 2021.

Keala won the $25,000 prize for “Overall Performance” and a $5,000 prize for “Biggest Wave”. Makani Adric was awarded the $5000 “Runner-Up” prize, and Emi Erickson was given the “Best Ride” Award for one of many steep drops at Waimea Bay.

The “People’s Choice” Winner Makani Adric said “When it comes to surfing and women supporting each other, it makes me happy seeing other girls rooting for one another. When I see other girls out surfing or trying their best doing what they love to do, it definitely inspires me to keep pushing forward and paving the way for the younger generations. This year has absolutely been a milestone.”

With this layout of Red Bull Magnitude, women have made their mark in big wave venues. We look forward to seeing more contests like this in the future.
