Is Skate 3 A Viable Surf-Training Strategy?
Judging by Kevin Meza’s latest edit, the answer is yes.
With an affinity for eclectic surfboard flip tricks, Kevin Meza is a favorite here at Stab. Upon meeting him, it’s nearly impossible to not take a liking to his quirky bashfulness. Upon surfing with him, it’s even more difficult to wrap your head around his skate-inspired surfing.
You might know Kevin better as “Baja Koala”, his marsupial moniker given to him because he always likes to sleep. You also might know him as the first guy to land a fingerflip in the ocean, or as the always-smiling Mexican in our recent Indonesian Stab High.
If you haven’t heard of him, or if you just wanna watch him get tech in Baja Norte, tune in to Salty Crew’s first episode of “Who’s Who?!” They follow him around northern Mexico for a few days while he hunts sections and practices his kickflips on Skate 3.
He even gets a couple visions at that wave during California’s gargantuan run of swell.
Enjoy.
