Incoming CT Rookie Ramzi Boukhiam Injures His Ankle While Surfing Backdoor

But he could still maybe surf at Pipe.

According to multiple sources, CT rookie — and the first Moroccan to make the world tour — Ramzi Boukhiam injured his ankle yesterday while surfing Backdoor. Apparently, he had to be ATV’d up the beach after packing a 6-footer, and couldn’t put any weight on the ankle.

We’ve been told that his replacement, Carlos Muñoz, got a call up yesterday, but hasn’t been given a confirmed spot to surf at Pipe. Apparently, the doctors aren’t sure whether Ramzi will be able to surf.

Considering his first CT appearance is 10 years in the making, and that we had him picked as probable Rookie of the Year, this is very disappointing news.

Heal up soon Ramzi.
