Ian Crane’s Foil Philosophy
Futures R&D looks fun AF.
Are there California labor laws about having too much fun in the workplace?
In the second episode of Futures’ Cutting Through series, a look behind the curtain at how the company develops its best-selling tech, Ian Crane looks like a kid in a candy store exploring the Huntington Beach factory and the labyrinth of machines that make his boards go whoosh.
Of particular interest to Crano is the Rasta twin model with a trailer. It pairs well with the …Lost 1996 RNF, a board other high-profile Mayhem team riders seem to adore. The Stab High, Stab Highway and Monster Air winner is big on the fin’s chiseled foil, which creates more speed and will hold on a dime in playful surf.
“It doesn’t even count if you have the flat foil anymore.”
Tough stuff. But, much like minor league baseball players must earn their stripes before they hit the big show, Ian pays his dues crumbly HB before hitting a home run for his Indonesia part in Crane Brain.
Safe to say Futures know what they’re doing. And they have fun doing it.
