Harley Walters Breathes New Life Into An Old Rasta Thruster
A Chris Garret 6’0” six channel.
Dave Rastovich was the world junior champion in 1995.
Rasta forged his name in the surf world on the thruster, taking heads on the QS before abandoning his back fin and the contest scene in search of life’s more exotic fruits.
20 years of riding experimental boards might’ve helped with the amnesia that Rasta was deadly on the three-fin. Here, 15 year old Angourie local, Harley Walters dusts the cobwebs from one of his ancient blades and hacks at Yamba beach breaks and points.
The Smashing Pumpkins 90’s soundtrack is apt for this homage to the 90’s era of torched volume-less rails, complex channel bottoms and swallows.
Board dimensions: 6’0 x 18 ¼ x 2 3/16
Volume: 24.1L
This is board ten from Harley’s lost-and-found surf series. Check out his other videos, here.
