Drone Footage Shows White Sharks Swimming Underneath Surfers In San Diego
Curious friends cruise through the lineup in Del Mar.
Drone footage captured in San Diego yesterday revealed several white sharks swimming near the shoreline in Del Mar.
The friendly passerby swam underneath surfers and swimmers, some of whom didn’t even realize the sharks were there.
The Director of the Shark Lab at California State University Long Beach, Chris Lowe, told NBC, “Those are all juveniles based on their size, and that’s pretty common this time of year. They like hanging out at our beaches, and they’re probably there because it’s safe for them. There’s lots of food, and the water is warm.”
While it is rare to see white sharks in San Diego, it is believed they were migrating so close to shore to avoid large predators.
