Dick-Shrinking Tubes In New Zealand’s South Island
Jonas Tawharu’s Rusty part is ice cold.
Dunedin is a coastal town in the Deep South of New Zealand. Known for its Scottish and Maori heritage, Victorian and Edwardian architecture, and large student population, it is also home to colonies of albatross, sea lions, rare yellow-eyed penguins and 22-year old tube-pig, Jonas Tawharu.
Jonas’ latest part is filmed over two years, mostly through frosty NZ winters synonymous with shrinkage and large south swells. The music is kindly provided by some emerging Dunedin Sound bands, ‘Propped Up’ by School Fair and ‘Requiem for a blood moon’ by Dusk Wing.
It’s cool. You should check it out.
Filmed and Edited by Oscar Johns.
