Dane Reynolds Joins Manera Wetsuits Team
“As a shop owner, it just made sense for me.”
When French kiteboarding brand Manera wiggled its way into surf, it was apparent that their European roots had led them to put a premium on style and design.
Now, the man who has spent his entire career obsessing over those two aspects of the surfing zeitgeist has joined their ranks.
Ch11 kingpin and Former co-founder Dane Reynolds has just announced his move to Manera — citing their focus on brick-and-mortar establishments as the reason.
“I thought it was cool to align with Manera, as a small family owned business which supports surf shops — which i think are the core of each surf community,” says Dane. “As a shop owner, it just made sense to me. Their dedication to that, I feel, is really important in surfing right now.”
This move comes almost two years after the release of Dane’s signature wetsuit collection with Buell. Word has it, he’ll just be going to Manera for wetsuits, not booties.
Per Manera:
Dane Reynolds needs no introduction in the surfing world. Born and bred in Central California, Dane is known for his “go for broke”, intuitive, progressive and explosive style, making him one of the most exciting and imaginative surfers today.
Unapologetically himself and always following his intuition, everything Dane does has his own style. He went on tour young, and quickly realized he wasn’t about it. He went off in his own direction afterwards, carving out his own unique path to become an electric free surfer and a reference in the world of surf films – his other favorite creative outlet besides surfing.”
