Everyone likes an in-joke.
Why? Well to understand an in-joke implies you have sufficient knowledge of a topic that to most is hidden, and by extension means you are part of an exclusive club. Not all of @pauly_matt_war_shore’s IG demand prerequisite knowledge for a giggle, but they may appreciate in value.
Side Note: @pauly_matt_war_shore’s is presumably not 62-year-old surf scribe, Matt Warshaw, responsible for curating the online Encyclopedia of Surfing and History of Surfing, and whose work has appeared in all the major surf publications of the day as well as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, Esquire and Outside. The ‘Pauly’ prefix, modern pop culture references and graphic design skills suggest another culprit who is (cleverly) operating under a pseudonym.
