Caity Simmers’ perfect day looks something like this:
1. Wake-up between 7- 8am (varies with the amount of surf and jet lag).
2. Cat cuddles.
3. A homemade vanilla latte that’s a 15/10.
4. Zombie-mode carpool to the beach with friends, impeccable fits, and lo-fi tunes.
5. Thorough surf-check and some lot trolling—Lauren Hill blasts.
6. Fiberglass gets pulled from the truck bed and the lineup goes under siege.
7. A soiree at the local taco spot—a gem, we will not be disclosing.
8. Front side grinds at the skatepark for dessert.
9. Quick stop at Stab’s HQ to work on personal stuff.
10. A jacuzzi or sauna sesh.

SunBum: What’s something random that most people might not know about you?
Caity: I have a brother that’s really good at yo-yoing and surfing. I used to do hip hop and I used to be really into boogie boarding.

How would you describe Oceanside to someone who has never heard of it?
A working class beach town with the worst waves and the best street ninjas.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now where do you see yourself and what are you doing?
In 5 years I guess I see myself on tour, with maybe 1-2 word titles hopefully, and a couple banger surf edits. Wherever I am, hopefully I’m getting pretty barreled.
What was the last concert you went to?
I haven’t really been to a proper concert but the last time I saw live music I’m pretty sure it was my neighbor’s band, they’re rad
