Another Swellpocalypse For Oz?

Australia is currently enduring its third straight La Nina year. If you’re a surfer, that’s great news — as long as your house doesn’t exist in a flood prone zone. As everyone knows, with more active storm energy comes more swell and, as the crew on the Gold Coast found out a couple weeks ago, this can even mean Superbank swells in October.

The above edit features Julian Wilson, Jack Robinson, the Kerrzy dynasty, and a handful of others enjoying a healthy run of off-season juice.

Among those who scored was Kehu Butler, a Kiwi expat who’s been living on the Goldie for the last few years. As you’ll see from his playful monologue, Kehu clearly has an even balance of personality and talent. The guy is earnest, lovable, and properly rips. Pretty hard to keep a straight face while he rambles on about rain and tennis rackets and the like.

Oh, and the double tube was pretty cool too.
