Meet Jack Scollard. Like a lot of surfers opt to do in this climate, Jack’s decided to change tact, as a way of maintaining relevance. It’s a big world out there and getting lost in the hordes ain’t hard. In Jack’s case, he’s taken the big wave route. A more frightening one than contests, f’sure, but certainly more niche and, when done properly, fruitful in its own right.
So, when Jack spotted a freak swell headed for Chopes, he had his dad’s pal, who’s a pilot, fly him in. Straight from the plane and into the thunderdome. Gripping the bull by the horns. It’s no code red, but definitely worth the trip.
